Verizon is one of the most popular carriers in the U.S. Over 27% of people reported using them for personal purposes in 2018, they had over 61 million smartphone users in Q1 2018, and they have some of the some of the highest brand preference across the United States.
What makes Verizon so popular is their coverage. Verizon offers the best coverage across the United States. However, because their network is so popular it is often congested, which means even though you’ll have coverage you may not be getting fast data speeds.
Verizon’s plans are also expensive. Their unlimited plans start at $75/month and go up to $90/month. With carriers like Visible (which is actually owned by Verizon) offering unlimited LTE data for just $40 per month (or even as low as $25 per month with their Visible PartyPay group discount system), I honestly don’t think Verizon’s high prices are worth it.
I suggest considering US Mobile, Visible, or Reach Mobile for getting the same Verizon coverage at a significantly cheaper price.
Verizon offers family plan discounts. You can add up to 6 lines to your account. The more lines you add, the more you save per month per line.
Verizon Prepaid uses their own network for coverage. It’s arguably one of the best.
International calling to Canada, Mexico, and China are supported on select Verizon Prepaid plans.
International roaming is supported on select Verizon Prepaid plans.
