Starting at $399 from some sites, the Galaxy S10 just became the best value Samsung phone you can buy.
Samsung’s latest new flagships are here: the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. These phones are packing amazing specifications, leading the industry in camera, performance, and quality.
Unfortunately, these premium features come with premium price tags.

The Galaxy S20 starts at $999, the S20+ starts at $1,199, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G starts at a whopping $1,399.
This is laptop-price territory!
Despite packing the latest premium features, including 120Hz refresh rate displays, up to 16GB of RAM on the S20 Ultra, and an impressive camera array including a 12MP ultra wide angle camera, 12MP wide angle camera, 64MP telephoto camera, and an astonishing 108MP telephoto camera on the S20 Ultra, I genuinely don’t feel these new phones from Samsung are worth the upgrade over the previous generation Galaxy S10.
In fact, I actually think the Samsung Galaxy S10 became the best value Samsung smartphone you can buy.
Samsung themselves dropped the price of the S10 lineup, making them great entry smartphones into their ecosystem. The Galaxy S10e now starts at $599, the S10 starts at $749, and the S10+ starts at $849. And the thing is, these are still great phones.

The best part? You can get an even better deal if you consider buying a gently used phone from a site like Swappa, Facebook Marketplace, or other online sellers.
On Swappa, you can find the Galaxy S10 for the following prices:
Considering the Galaxy S10 still packs impressive specs, too:
- 6.1” QHD+ AMOLED display
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB storage
- 3,400mAh battery
- 16MP ultra wide angle camera, 12MP wide angle camera, 12MP telephoto camera
- 4K at 60FPS video recording
- HDR10+ support
- LTE bands for all major carriers
Pair the value of a gently used S10 with an affordable cell phone plan, and you’re getting one heck of a deal. You could literally save $1,000+ and get a phone that still has awesome specs, amazing performance, and a cell phone plan that meets your data needs.
My recommendations for great value cell phone plans to consider:
- US Mobile’s $36 8GB plan (uses Verizon for coverage)
- Wing’s $55 unlimited data plan (uses AT&T for coverage)
- Tello’s $26 8GB plan (uses Sprint for coverage)
- Mint Mobile’s $25 12GB plan (uses T-Mobile for coverage)
And there are PLENTY more affordable plans to choose from. You can check out the best cell phone plans for the Galaxy S10 here.
I’m all about helping people save money on cell phone service, and upgrading to an unlocked Galaxy S10 and pairing it with an affordable cell phone plan is a great opportunity to get a phenomenal phone at an incredible value.
Of course nothing beats the value of keeping your existing phone and switching to a more affordable cell phone plan, but ya-know, getting a new phone is fun too sometimes. :)
