Google Fi Unlimited Essentials
Unlimited data on T-Mobile’s network with 480p streaming quality and free international texting to over 200 countries, but no hotspot or international data included.
Taxes and fees not included
- 30GB high-speed, then 256Kbps
- 480p video streaming
- Pay-per-minute int'l calls
We don't recommend Google Fi Unlimited Essentials for 1 line. There are similar plans with the same or more data at a better price.
Description
Google Fi Unlimited Essentials gives you 30GB of high-speed data on T-Mobile's network for $35 a month. It includes priority data. It also includes free international texting to over 200 destinations. It gets cheaper with more lines: four lines cost $90, or $22.50 per line. A smartwatch line is included. For comparison, T-Mobile's own Essentials plan costs $60 a month before taxes.
After 30GB, speeds slow to 256Kbps. There's no hotspot. Video streams at 480p. Taxes and fees are extra.
For unlimited data on the same T-Mobile network for less, our top pick is Mint Mobile Unlimited Annual: $30 a month when you pay for a year upfront, with a 20GB hotspot. If you'd rather pay month to month, Metro Unlimited $30 BYOD is $30 a month with taxes included.
Consider Google Fi Unlimited Essentials if: you use a lot of data and want priority data.
