Best phone deals, priced over three years
Carriers advertise the credit, not the cost. Tell us the phone you want, the phone you have and how many lines you’re on, and we’ll total what every carrier’s deal actually costs you over 36 months.

How the ranking works
- Why not just take the biggest credit?
- Because the credit isn’t the price. The biggest credits usually need the most expensive plan, a trade-in and 36 months of bill credits; leave early and the rest of the credit goes with you. A smaller credit on a cheaper plan often costs less over three years, which is why the results rank on the 3-year total, not on the credit.
- What’s in the 3-year total?
- The plan for 36 months, the phone, sales tax for your ZIP, activation and other fees, less every credit and whatever your old phone is worth — traded to the carrier, to the maker, or sold yourself, whichever the deal allows and costs you least.
- What does “up to” mean on these tiles?
- The largest credit any carrier is offering on that phone right now, from deals we’ve checked in the last 30 days. The line under it says what that deal asks for. Your own price depends on your answers, which is what “See my price” works out.
- How do you make money?
- Some carriers pay us a commission when you sign up through our links. It never changes your price, and it never changes where a deal ranks.
