Xfinity Mobile is a postpaid cell phone carrier known as a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO.
An MVNO is simply any cell phone carrier that does not operate its own cellular network.
Instead of building their own networks, MVNOs make agreements with the four big carriers to use their cellular networks for coverage.
In Xfinity Mobile’s case, it uses the Verizon network for coverage.
If you are curious to learn more about how the agreements work between the big carriers and the small carriers, check out my article on how some cell phone plans can cost so much less than others.
Yes, Xfinity Mobile supports family plans. You can easily mange multiple lines from a single Xfinity Mobile account.
Xfinity Mobile has plans for tablets and smartwatches.
The tablet plan counts as adding an extra voice line to your account in terms of price. The tablet plan includes 15GB of high-speed data and then unlimited data at reduced speeds.
The smartwatch line is $10 per month and includes unlimited minutes and texts. Data usage on the watch counts towards the host phone's data plan.
Unfortunately, Xfinity Mobile does not support hotspot plans at this time.
