US Mobile is a prepaid cell phone carrier known as a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO.
An MVNO is simply any cell phone carrier that does not operate its own cellular network.
Instead of building their own networks, MVNOs make agreements with the four big carriers to use their cellular networks for coverage.
In US Mobile’s case, it uses the Verizon or T-Mobile networks for coverage.
If you are curious to learn more about how the agreements work between the big carriers and the small carriers, check out my article on how some cell phone plans can cost so much less than others.
US Mobile offers two types of plans to choose from:
Shared data plans: The shared data plans allow you to share a pool of data with multiple lines. Your options are 2GB for $10 or 10GB for $20. The first line is included for free with each shared data plan. You can add as many lines as you want to for just $8 per line.
You can also purchase additional high-speed data for your data plan at any time you need it for $2 per GB (you just need to purchase 2GB or more per transaction).
If you sign up for the 10GB plan for $20, you also have the option to buy 10GB of extra data for $15.
Unlimited plans: US Mobile's unlimited plans include unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and either 10GB, 35GB, or 100GB of high-speed data. After your high-speed allotment, you get unlimited data at 1 Mbps.

US Mobile has a referral program.
For every friend you refer, you get 50% off your next bill, up to $10.
Your friend also gets up to $10 off their first month of service, too. All your friend needs to do is enter your referral code during the activation process. You can find your unique referral code under the “Refer A Friend” section of your online account and mobile application.
You can also get $20 of account credit by using code “STETSONACT” during the activation process.
Students can save 20% off the cost of any plan with the student discount.
There is also a family discount available for the Unlimited Basic and Unlimited Premium plans. You save $5 off per line per month for every line you add. The maximum discount is $15 off per line when you have four lines.
No discounts or referral programs are available at this time.
US Mobile is awesome for families.
They let you easily manage multiple lines and shared data plans from a single online dashboard.
The shared data plans are also a great value for families. As an example, a family of four could get a 12GB shared data plan and pay just $48 per month total. That's just $12 per line.
US Mobile's unlimited plans can also be a good option for families, too.
US Mobile doesn’t support smartwatches or hotspot devices.
They do support tablets.
Any of US Mobile’s plans will work in a tablet. Simply pop the SIM card into your tablet and it will work just fine. My two favorite options for tablets are the data bucket plans and the unlimited plans.
A common question people ask is, “how good is US Mobile coverage?”
US Mobile uses the T-Mobile or the Verizon network to provide coverage. You pick which network you want when you sign up. Coverage on US Mobile will be as good as the T-Mobile or Verizon networks are in your area.
One thing to note is that US Mobile does not get domestic roaming coverage on T-Mobile.
They do get domestic roaming coverage on LTEiRA partners on the Verizon network.
Domestic roaming is when your phone will use a partner network for coverage in areas where your native network doesn’t have service. For example, in areas of Vermont where T-Mobile doesn’t have service, T-Mobile customers will use the AT&T network for coverage thanks to a roaming agreement between the two carriers.
Check the Verizon and T-Mobile coverage maps to see what service is like in your area.
If you see any part of the T-Mobile map marked as “partner coverage,” that means you likely won’t have service in that particular area on US Mobile because it is a domestic roaming agreement.

US Mobile supports slightly different features on the Verizon and T-Mobile networks.
On the Verizon network, which US Mobile calls Super LTE, they support visual voicemail, VoLTE, MMS, mobile hotspot, and 720p video streaming.
On the T-Mobile network, which US Mobile calls GSM LTE, they support VoLTE, MMS, Wi-Fi calling, mobile hotspot, and 4K video streaming.
All plans support international data roaming with US Mobile’s international eSIM plans, as well as 5G access.
US Mobile offers a limited selection of devices you can purchase from their online store. We recommend you purchase an unlocked device directly from the manufacturer or bring your own unlocked device to us with US Mobile.
Any phone that is compatible with either the T-Mobile network or the Verizon network and is unlocked will work on US Mobile.
International calling is not available from US Mobile.
However, they do support international data roaming with their international eSIM plans.
These international eSIM plans are currently available in 154 total countries. They include varying amounts of data that range from 1GB and go all the way up to 10GB.
The Unlimited All plan from US Mobile includes access to the international eSIM plans. This means you get free international data roaming, which is awesome.
If you are on a different plan from US Mobile, such as a custom plan, data bucket plan, or pooled plan, you may need to purchase an international eSIM plan separately.
Anyone who is not a US Mobile customer can also purchase an international eSIM plan.
Keep in mind these eSIM plans only work on eSIM compatible phones. Thankfully most newer phones, like the iPhone XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, and Galaxy S20 and newer, typically support eSIM.
US Mobile offers add-ons for the mobile hotspot and international data roaming. You can see their available plan add-ons below:
