US Mobile is a prepaid cell phone carrier known as a mobile virtual network operator.
Mobile virtual network operators, abbreviated as MVNOs, are cell phone carriers that do not own their own networks. Instead, they ride on another network to provide service. In US Mobile’s case, they use either the T-Mobile or the Verizon networks to provide service.
You choose what network you want to use for coverage when you sign up for US Mobile.
US Mobile was started in 2014 by Ahmed Khattak.
Since their launch in 2014, US Mobile has grown rapidly. They raised $11.5 million in funding in July 2021. US Mobile raised another $19.5 million in their Series A2 funding round in May of 2022.
US Mobile continues to improve their service, too.
They are always adding new features and improving their rates.
US Mobile added eSIM support in December 2021. They added two-factor authentication support in February 2022. And the Unlimited Premium plan launched in May 2022 with 100GB of premium data, the most ever from a Verizon MVNO.
I’ve had an active line on US Mobile since February of 2021.
In short, yes, US Mobile is good.
US Mobile’s low-cost cell phone plans make them a great choice for single-line users. And families will appreciate US Mobile’s multi-line discounts and included perks. Features like eSIM, 2FA, mobile hotspot data, international data, and 5G access on Verizon’s fast 5G Ultra Wideband network also make US Mobile a great experience.
I really like US Mobile.
If you want coverage on the Verizon network, I think US Mobile is one of the best overall options available.
If you’re not opposed to giving US Mobile a try, you can get $20 of account credit by using code “STETSONACT” when you sign up.
US Mobile offers two types of plans to choose from:
The shared data plans allow you to choose a high-speed data amount that can be shared with multiple lines. The first line is included for free. Each additional line you add is $8. You can purchase additional high-speed data at any time for $2 per GB.
The unlimited plans include unlimited minutes and texts and offer 20GB, 50GB, or 100GB of high-speed data. You still get unlimited data after your high-speed allotment, but your data speeds will be slowed to 1Mbps.
The Unlimited Premium plan also includes free international data and up to two free streaming services for family plans.

US Mobile has a referral program.
For every friend you refer, you get 50% off your next bill, up to $10.
Your friend also gets up to $10 off their first month of service, too. All your friend needs to do is enter your referral code during the activation process. You can find your unique referral code under the “Refer A Friend” section of your online account and mobile application.
You can also get $20 of account credit by using code “STETSONACT” during the activation process.
Students can save 20% off the cost of any plan with the student discount.
There is also a family discount available for the Unlimited Basic and Unlimited Premium plans. You save $5 off per line per month for every line you add. The maximum discount is $15 off per line when you have four lines.
No discounts or referral programs are available at this time.
US Mobile is awesome for families.
The pooled plans let you share data with all of your lines and get an unbelievable price on your service.
For example, a family of four could get the 12GB pooled plan and pay just $12.25 per line with taxes and fees included. The 12GB of data would be shared between all lines. Each line would get 3GB if the data was split evenly. Of course, there is flexibility for lines to use more data and other lines to use less.
You can purchase more data at any time for $2 per GB.
The Unlimited plans are also great for families.
I personally love the Unlimited Essentials plan. It comes with 50GB of premium data per line (over 2x what the average person uses per month) and 5GB of hotspot data. The price for four lines would be just $30/line per month with all taxes and fees included.

US Mobile doesn’t support smartwatches or hotspot devices.
They do support tablets.
Any of US Mobile’s plans will work in a tablet. Simply pop the SIM card into your tablet and it will work just fine. My two favorite options for tablets are the data bucket plans and the unlimited plans.
A common question people ask is, “how good is US Mobile coverage?”
US Mobile uses the T-Mobile or the Verizon network to provide coverage. You pick which network you want when you sign up. Coverage on US Mobile will be as good as the T-Mobile or Verizon networks are in your area.
One thing to note is that US Mobile does not get domestic roaming coverage on T-Mobile.
They do get domestic roaming coverage on LTEiRA partners on the Verizon network.
Domestic roaming is when your phone will use a partner network for coverage in areas where your native network doesn’t have service. For example, in areas of Vermont where T-Mobile doesn’t have service, T-Mobile customers will use the AT&T network for coverage thanks to a roaming agreement between the two carriers.
Check the Verizon and T-Mobile coverage maps to see what service is like in your area.
If you see any part of the T-Mobile map marked as “partner coverage,” that means you likely won’t have service in that particular area on US Mobile because it is a domestic roaming agreement.

US Mobile supports slightly different features on the Verizon and T-Mobile networks.
On the Verizon network, which US Mobile calls Super LTE, they support visual voicemail, VoLTE, MMS, mobile hotspot, and 720p video streaming.
On the T-Mobile network, which US Mobile calls GSM LTE, they support VoLTE, MMS, Wi-Fi calling, mobile hotspot, and 4K video streaming.
All plans support international data roaming with US Mobile’s international eSIM plans, as well as 5G access.
US Mobile offers a limited selection of devices you can purchase from their online store. We recommend you purchase an unlocked device directly from the manufacturer or bring your own unlocked device to us with US Mobile.
Any phone that is compatible with either the T-Mobile network or the Verizon network and is unlocked will work on US Mobile.
International calling is not available from US Mobile.
However, they do support international data roaming with their international eSIM plans.
These international eSIM plans are currently available in 154 total countries. They include varying amounts of data that range from 1GB and go all the way up to 10GB.
The Unlimited All plan from US Mobile includes access to the international eSIM plans. This means you get free international data roaming, which is awesome.
If you are on a different plan from US Mobile, such as a custom plan, data bucket plan, or pooled plan, you may need to purchase an international eSIM plan separately.
Anyone who is not a US Mobile customer can also purchase an international eSIM plan.
Keep in mind these eSIM plans only work on eSIM compatible phones. Thankfully most newer phones, like the iPhone XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, and Galaxy S20 and newer, typically support eSIM.
US Mobile offers add-ons for the mobile hotspot and international data roaming. You can see their available plan add-ons below:
US Mobile’s support is available via chat on their website, the chat section of the mobile app, by emailing help@usmobile.com, or by calling US Mobile at +1 (878) 205-0088.
